About the Educator Development Award:

The AAAAI Educator Development Award was established to nurture aspiring leaders in education, so that they may more successfully contribute to:

  •     Education, including assessment of current and future allergy/immunology physicians
  •     Education of advanced practice providers, nurses, and other health care professionals caring for patients with allergic/immunologic disorders
  •     Curriculum development and implementation at AAAAI meetings and online resources
  •     Program design, implementation and evaluation of AAAAI meetings
  •     Improve outcomes of AAAAI educational forums – e.g., AAAAI annual and regional meetings, and online curricula

    Encourage educational inquiry and scholarship among AAAAI member

The 2020 Educator Development Award Recipient:

Dr. Alice Hoyt, Cleveland Clinic, was selected as the recipient of the inaugural AAAAI Educator Development Award. Her project is titled:

Training the Trainer: The Critical Mission of Teaching Allergy Fellows and Allied Health Professionals How They Can Effectively Teach PreK-12 School Personnel How to Prevent, Recognize, and Respond to Anaphylaxis.
