The mission of the 270-member Texas Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Society (TAAIS) is to improve the quality of life of Texans who suffer from allergies, asthma and immunodeficiences. We reach this goal by providing continuing education each year to our member allergists/immunologists and also to primary care physicians and nurses. Our (2) regional meetings on Allergies & Asthma this year are geared towards 70 primary care physicians and nurses in the local areas of San Angelo, Texas and Harlingen, Texas.
Credit must be claimed by June 30, 2015. Any credit request on or after July 1, 2015 will be subject to an administrative fee.

Family physicians, internists, pediatricians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and nurses.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to: 1. Discuss characteristics and treatment plans for atopic dermatitis. 2. Explain the rationale and implementation of inhaled rescue and controller medications for asthma. 3. Be able to identify appropriate selection of patients and discuss efficacy, side effects and location of allergen immunotherapy. 4. Recognize the differences between drug allergy and other adverse drug reactions. 5. Describe the criteria for appropriate consultation with an allergy/immunology specialist.
