2018 NESA Spring Physicians' Meeting
CREDIT CLAIMING IS NOW OPEN FOR THE 2018 NESA SPRING PHYSICIANS' MEETING.
Credit claiming will remain open through December 31, 2018. Credit requests on or after January 1, 2019 will be subject to an administrative fee.
Speaker handouts are now available to all attendees and are located after the credit claiming and certificate steps.
NESA provides ongoing educational meetings to allow our membership to keep up to date with the latest developments in the field of Allergy and Immunology. This year's meeting will include the following topics:
- Early introduction of peanut
- New approach to evaluation of penicillin allergy
- Update on AERD
The meeting will also include the annual business meeting and exhibits.

Online registration closes on March 30 at 5:30 pm Eastern time. After that, you may still attend the meeting, but must register on site. On-site registration will include an additional $100 late fee. This late fee will not apply to speaking/presenting faculty or trainees.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe how and when to perform oral food challenges with peanut in the hospital setting
- Describe how and when to introduce peanut as a single dose (one feed) in the hospital setting vs. at home
- Discuss the wider implications of early introduction of peanuts on healthcare resources and infant food consumption
- Define the impact of reported penicillin allergy on patients and healthcare systems
- Compare approaches to the evaluation of penicillin allergy
- Describe the relevance of cysteinyl leukotrienes in the pathophysiology of aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD)
- Explain the consequences of prostaglandin D2 (PGD2) release during aspirin-induced reactions in AERD
- Summarize the evidence for the use of currently-available biologics in AERD
