The Northwest Allergy Forum is a CME educational meeting jointly sponsored by the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and the Western and Oregon Societies of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. The program is a one-day event with speakers covering topics such as asthma, immunotherapy, food and drug allergy.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe available and upcoming novel therapeutics for the treatment of food allergies and understand current research and initiatives of the new CoFAR.
  • Discuss the role of available and upcoming biologic therapies for severe, refractory persistent asthma. 
  • Recognize the pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and management of eosinophilic esophagitis, and understanding of these aspects has evolved over time.
  • Understand how food allergic responses are influenced by the gut microbiome.
  • Apply updated coding requirements for clinical visits (in person and telemedicine) resulting from changes due to the COVID19 pandemic as well as for implementation of OIT in clinical practice.
