NESA provides ongoing educational meetings to allow our membership to keep up to date with the latest developments in the field of Allergy and Immunology. Our target audience consists of NESA members, any physician interested in the field of Allergy and Immunology (including fellows in training), and any Allied Health professional (including RNs, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants) interested in increasing their fund of knowledge in the field.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to: 1. To review the definition of food allergy. 2. To review causes and diagnostics and prevention of food allergy. 3. To determine the molecular mechanisms of food allergy immunotherapy. 4. To describe and evaluate the evolution of the controversy regarding safety of LABAs in the management of asthma. 5. To apply a framework for the optimal use of LABAs in persistent asthma. 6. To review data from longitudinal cohort studies informing the natural history of asthma from childhood through adulthood. 7. To discuss new investigations into the early life origins of allergy and asthma. 8. To review the basics of prescribing intravenous and subcutaneous IgG replacement therapy. 9. To identify how to prevent and manage common complications of IgG replacement. 10. To discuss the concepts of the TREC assay as a marker of T cell development. 11. To describe the general procedure for following up an abnormal TREC screen.
