Wheezin’, Sneezin’ and Itchin’ in Alaska is a 2-day program that targets a variety of medical specialists who frequently encounter allergy, asthma and immunology patients in their clinical practices. With only 9 board certified allergists/immunologists practicing in Alaska; many Alaskans with asthma and/or allergies who live in urban and rural cities must rely on medical care from general practitioners such as pediatricians, family practice providers, ANP’s, and/or PA’s. Physician and other health care providers from across Alaska, welcome the opportunity to increase their knowledge of asthma, allergy and immunological disease management based on current guidelines. AAFA Alaska’s conference provides local access to state of the art education programs, minimizing the amount of travel that would be required to attend similar programs in the continental United States. This conference provides a rigorous program of evidenced based information provided by a carefully selected faculty.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Recognize how climate change is impacting environmental factors that are leading to increased frequency and more severe atopic disorders
- Adapt management strategies for patients with recurrent infections and immunodeficiency
- Learn how to recognize and identify occult processes such as mastocytosis, SLE and other autoimmune conditions.
- Recognize the dermatologic masqueraders associated with atopic skin disease
- Recognize antibody deficiencies in chronic lung diseases and other co-morbid conditions
- Understand the distinction between pediatric asthma and adult onset asthma, both in phenotype and management
- Adapt principles of diagnostic criteria of chronic upper airway conditions and the role of personalized medicine
- Understand the expanding role of biologics in the management of asthma, allergic and immunologic disease
- Learn the differential angioedema based on presentation, appropriate evaluation, and management
- Learn about the diagnosis and management strategies of “Long COVID”
- Recognize the complexity related to confirmation of IgE and non-IgE food allergy
- Recognize the asthma/COPD overlap syndrome and potentially new therapies
- Learn about health disparities in underserved populations, with focus on cultural awareness
- Explore the future of medicine including the role of artificial intelligence and expanding personalized care
- Learn about adrenal insufficiency including risks, recognition, management
- Explore Infectious disease and vaccines, learning from the past

AAAAI Disclosure Policy
Pursuant to the Code of Ethics for the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) and the Standards for Commercial Support of Continuing Medical Education of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, the AAAAI requires disclosure of certain information from faculty members of educational activities designated for CME credit by the AAAAI.
