  • Obtain a complete medical history regarding symptoms that occurred after an insect sting in the evaluation of venom allergy
  • Perform diagnostic testing only in patients with a clinical history consistent with insect sting hypersensitivity
  • Counsel patients at risk for future anaphylaxis from insect stings regarding the benefits of venom immunotherapy
