The 2024 TAAIS Annual Meeting, spanning three half-days, will offer state-of-the-art advances in allergic, asthmatic and immunologic diseases. Nationally renowned experts from across the U.S. will engage the practicing allergist/immunologist and discuss the most challenging problems in patients with allergies, asthma and immuno-deficiencies. In addition, Allergy fellows-in-training will provide a first-hand snapshot of the exciting allergy/immunology research going on in the State of Texas.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Develop an approach to selecting patients for dietary advancement, immuno-therapy, and other interventions
  • Critically assess data from recent interventional food allergy trials
  • Describe the existing literature on the impact of poor diet, physical inactivity and obesity in asthma
  • Summarize published lifestyle interventions designed to improve asthma outcomes
  • Implement strategies to perform physical activity, diet and obesity counseling in practice
  • Explain the recent changes in regulations that affect our practice
  • Describe the clinical features that are the best warning signs for primary immunodeficiency
  • Discuss the definitions of eosinophilia and who needs a more extensive workup
  • Recognize danger signs associated with eosinophilia
  • Consider the role of allergists/immunologists in the care of patients with eosinophilic disorders
  • Discuss the evolution in diagnostic criteria and pathogenesis of eosinophilic GI disorders
  • Explain the current evidence-based and emerging treatment approaches in EoE and EGIDs
  • Discuss a historical and current perspective on ethics in medicine
  • Explain the latest updates in asthma
  • Discuss management options for refractory chronic urticaria

Accreditation Statement

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of AAAAI and Texas Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Society. The AAAAI is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit claiming for this activity will expire at 11:59 pm on March 31, 2025. Requests to claim credit on or after April 1, 2025 will be subject to an administrative fee. Credits for this activity can no longer be claimed after April 1, 2030.
