2025 New England Society of Allergy Spring Allied Health Meeting
The Allied Health Practitioners Allergy Update is the major educational activity for nurses sponsored by the New England Society of Allergy. This update is offered during each spring meeting of the society. It is organized by a dedicated group of allergy society nurses. The goal of The Allergy Nurses Update is to provide continuing education in asthma, allergy, and clinical immunology for allied health personnel working in the specialty and to provide a forum for networking. It is a one-day program designed for allergy nurses by the clinical staff members of the society.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify, diagnose and start treatment for a patient presenting with an immunodeficiency
- Identify an escalating situation in the office setting and apply techniques to de-escalate the situation
- Determine which patients should be selected for a Peanut OIT in the office setting and identify the logistics involved in setting that up
- Identify the impact built environment has childhood obesity and asthma in children
- Explain how antibodies function and the clinical manifestation of antibody dysfunction. Identify how to recognize and treat anaphylaxis in the office setting
- Discuss the methodical approach to setting up a food challenge
