Mid Atlantic Allergy Conference 2026
The Mid-Atlantic Allergy Conference (MAAC) is a meeting held annually to promote networking, education, camaraderie, and support of the patient-physician relationship. Our target audience are private practice allergists (from CAA, PAA, STIA & other allergy societies), nurse practitioners, physician assistants, residents, medical students and practice managers. We gather and work together to advance the practice of medicine forward through carefully selected topics and speakers who can facilitate the learning of new treatments and diagnosis of allergic diseases.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Recognize the clinical manifestations of mast cell activation syndrome. Apply current diagnostic criteria for mast cell activation syndrome
- Differentiate mast cell activation syndrome from related mast cell disorders
- Describe the pathophysiology of alpha-gal syndrome. Identify common dietary and non-dietary triggers associated with alpha-gal syndrome
- Develop evidence-based management plans for patients with alpha-gal syndrome
- Recognize clinical manifestations of EoE
- Explain the role of the allergist in multidisciplinary management
- Review current treatment options for EoE
- Differentiate between desensitization and sustained unresponsiveness (disease modification) achieved through oral immunotherapy, including current clinical evidence and outcomes
- Evaluate the benefits and risks of OIT in patients with food allergy
- Differentiate the underlying mechanisms of urticaria with angioedema
- Recognize the clinical features that distinguish histaminergic angioedema from bradykinin mediated angioedema
- Apply a diagnostic approach to and current therapeutic strategies for patients presenting with urticaria and angioedema
- Recognize atypical clinical presentations of common and uncommon allergic and immunologic disorders encountered in clinical practice
- Apply case-based reasoning to real-world clinical scenarios to improve decision-making in difficult or atypical patient presentations
