Episode 37: Impact of Disparities on Food Allergy

This is a recorded episode of the AAAAI podcast series, Conversations from the World of Allergy. The host, Dr. David Stukus, will interview Carla Davis, MD FAAAAI about disparities related to food allergy. The conversation will cover how socioeconomic and racial/ethnic disparities impact the prevalence and treatment of food allergies. Dr. Davis will discuss populations that are at higher risk of developing food allergies and the rates of food allergy morbidity among these groups. She will also explain some of the challenges that food allergy patients from disadvantaged groups may face and provide suggestions for tangible ways clinicians can help at-risk patients.
