Pregnancy and Lactation Labeling Rule (PLLR): Implications for Clinical Practice will review the changes in labeling due to the PLLR, and current implementation strategies and timelines. Clinicians will review what this means for day-to-day practice and present a variety of strategies for patient engagement and education. Information on current surveillance efforts to determine medication safety in the pregnancy/lactation period will be provided.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify three strategies clinicians can use in their day-to-day practice to inform their pregnant and lactating patients about the PLLR
  • Describe one method for evaluating the safety of medications during pregnancy and the lactation period
