RECORDINGS FROM THE LIVE EVENT ARE NOW AVAILABLE!
The Practice Management Workshop is programmed by allergists and allergy office managers for allergists and their office staff, and focuses exclusively on the practical aspects of running your practice. Sessions are presented by a unique mix of consultants, physicians and practice managers who fight the same battles you do every day.

Registration fees are the same for those who attend the workshop in person in DC or virtually using the live stream. Everyone will also be given access (after the live event) to recordings of all workshop content. We hope this will allow a larger number of FITs and practice staff in particular to experience the workshop even if they are unable to travel to Washington, DC.

Registration Information

AAAAI leadership will be monitoring health and safety factors for the Practice Management Workshop. All attendees, faculty and exhibitors are required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 and should be prepared to show proof of vaccination when registering on site. AAAAI will follow all federal, state and local guidelines in place at the time of the workshop and we may have masking protocols on site.

Please read ALL information and instructions before attempting to register. DO NOT REGISTER UNDER ANYONE'S NAME BUT YOUR OWN. There are options at the bottom of the page to register as practice staff of a AAAAI member or non-member as outlined in the table, below.

Credit Claiming

Credit must be claimed by June 30, 2023. Credit requests on or after July 1, 2023 will be subject to an administrative fee.

Physicians and their medical offices have and continue to experience innumerable challenges in this COVID-19 and post-COVID-19 pandemic.  In this forum, we will discuss ideas to mitigate negative financial, logistical and operational consequences of the pandemic. We will also discuss potential best practices for keeping a practice safe, healthy and moving forward.

 

Seeing Red: Strategies to Improve Communication and Resolve Office Conflicts – Theresa Bingemann, MD, FAAAAI and Vivian Hernandez-Trujillo, MD, FAAAAI

Effective communication between team members is critical to ensuring a high-functioning practice. This session will provide practical guidance and tools for both clinical and administrative team members.

This session will provide the basics in medical coding for young allergists or practice managers with minimal exposure to allergy/immunology coding principles.

 

Strategies for Hiring and Developing an Allergy/Immunology Team – Helen Combs and Amar Dixit, MD

This session will discuss hiring and developing support staff within an allergy/immunology practice. It will specifically discuss the decision making process on when to hire staff.  It will consider and suggest recruitment strategies. It will provide guidance on determining qualifications (MA, LVN, Nurse, biller/coder etc.) needed for open positions. It will review best known staffing ratios. Lastly, it will review concepts of people development and mentoring.
