Targeted Education About Medicine for Schools (TEAMS): Anaphylaxis
Targeted Education About Medicine for Schools (TEAMS) is medical information presented within sessions or courses that are designed specifically for members of the K-12 school community. For example, a 30-minute talk on anaphylaxis that you create and present to local 3rd grade teachers is an example of TEAMS.
This course was developed to teach allergy professionals how to apply allergy expertise to school-targeted allergy education. It will also explain how to navigate the multiple cultures and chains of command at schools and help learners understanding legal issues and indemnification, allowing you to enjoy serving your community while minimizing anxieties of potential liability. Throughout the course, you will access content that will equip you to teach at your local K-12 schools.
- Allied Health Professionals
Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Demonstrate a deeper level of knowledge regarding school-specific food allergy and anaphylaxis issues including legalities
- Identify and/or develop school-targeted anaphylaxis education programs
- Strategize your approaches to navigating TEAMS at K-12 schools
