2706: Assessing and Improving Quality of Life in Families Affected by Food Allergy
In addition to working with food allergy patients and their families to manage their condition, healthcare providers must also address the psychosocial challenges these patients and their caregivers experience. This seminar will empower allergists to effectively and efficiently facilitate discussions around quality of life with their patients, assess if improvement is needed, and provide resources for families with food allergy that may augment their quality of life.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Review data regarding the amount of worry, anxiety, and burden in these families as well as the effect having a food allergy (or child with food allergy) has on quality of life
- Discuss efficient screening tools to identify patients struggling with the psychosocial impact of their food allergies
- Provide resources for families that can be used in small group practices as well as in larger academic centers
