2026 Michigan Allergy & Asthma Society Summer CME Meeting
The Michigan Allergy & Asthma Society has recognized the need to involve allergists-immunologists from across the State of Michigan and its neighboring states in its educational and networking activities by organizing a weekend CME meeting in Traverse City at the northern tip of the Michigan Lower Peninsula. This event combines family friendly activities in a relaxing environment with an exceptional educational program with nationally recognized speakers designed to meet the needs of the practicing allergist-immunologists and other health care providers with interest in the field of allergy, asthma and immunology.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to
- Discuss the immunology of asthma
- Identify the anti-inflammatory effects of GLP-1 receptor agonists on lung inflammation
- Investigate the epidemiologic data that suggests that GLP-1are beneficial in the treatment of asthma
- Discuss data supporting a causal association of respiratory viral infections and asthma
- Review the mechanisms through which viral infections may promote asthma development
- Recognize data on interventions which delay, prevent or treat infections prevent asthma development or change natural history
- Discuss the primary signs and symptoms of inducible laryngeal obstruction
- Identify two evidence-based interventions that can be applied to individuals with induced laryngeal obstruction
- Recognize the candidacy requirements for individuals receiving behavioral interventions addressing induced laryngeal obstruction
- Describe the identification of genetic testing for immunodeficiency associated with PID and treatment strategies
- Discuss the pathogenesis of different viral infections and the antiviral immune response of vaccines
- Discuss how artificial intelligence is affecting the practice of allergy
- Identify AI’s evolving role, emphasizing its impact on diagnostic accuracy, personalized treatments and innovative research methodologies.
- Discuss the clinical presentation of refractory chronic urticaria
- Identify the best options for treatment for chronic urticaria
- Discuss types of drug allergies
- Describe drug allergy challenges
- Discuss emerging information on the diagnosis and treatment of Immunodeficiency
- Discuss new and current evidence on food immunotherapy to manage food allergies
- Identify and mitigate our unconscious stereotypes that affect our actions and decisions
- Implement actionable strategies to counteract automatic, biased behaviors to create more equitable, including environments in the healthcare set

Pursuant to the Code of Ethics for the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) and the Standards for Commercial Support of Continuing Medical Education of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, the AAAAI requires disclosure of certain information from faculty members of educational activities designated for CME credit by the AAAAI. Accreditation Statement
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of AAAAI and the Michigan Allergy & Asthma Society. The AAAAI is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
