2019 TAAIS Annual Meeting

The TAAIS Annual Meeting, spanning three half-days, will offer state-of-the-art advances in allergic, asthmatic and immunologic diseases. Nationally renowned experts from across the U.S. will engage the practicing allergist/immunologist and discuss the most challenging problems in patients with allergies, asthma and immunodeficiency. In addition, Allergy fellows-in-training will provide a first-hand snapshot of the exciting allergy/immunology research going on in the State of Texas.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the therapeutic potential of biologics affecting key immunopathogenic pathways in asthma
  • Explain the pathophysiology of atopic dermatitis
  • Discuss the therapeutic potential of biologics for the mangement of antihistamine-resistant chronic urticaria
  • Develop a framework for how biologics work and when to use them in treating stopic dermatitis
  • Identify an academic allergy/immunology model for physician leadership in patient care, reserach, and education
  • Describe treatment approaches for reducing asthma exacerbations in children with asthma
  • Explain the basics of employment law and what is legally required to run and protect a business
  • Discuss advantages and limitations of component resolved testing in food allergy
  • Formulate and categorize the muliple causes of provider burnout and stress
  • Compare and contrast potential solutions to provider stress and burnout, specifically with regard to allergy and immunology providers
  • Explain the latest update to the drug allergy practice parameter
