This session will address the challenges that environmental exposures and influencers in urban and rural communities impose on the development and/or exacerbation of asthma.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the challenges in how air pollution in urban areas affects the development and exacerbation of asthma and asthma-COPD overlap
  • Outline the challenges in how rural environmental factors affect the development of asthma and asthma-COPD overlap
  • Describe the treatment options, focusing on biologics, in environment-related asthma and asthma-COPD overlap
