Session 2822 from the 2017 AAAAI Annual Meeting provides an evidence-based summary of the challenges facing older asthmatics, as well as potential solutions to improve asthma control in this population. Strategies that  can use to help overcome barriers to good asthma control such as poor inhaler technique, financial concerns, and medication side effects will be discussed. Techniques to assess and improve adherence among older asthmatics will also be discussed. Lastly, it will provide useful tips for effective case-coordination in this age group, with a focus on how to help older asthmatics achieve optimal quality of life.
