2020-2021 Interactive Education Institute
The AAAAI always aims to offer effective educational sessions, and we recognize that Annual Meeting faculty play an important role in this. Our 2020-2023 Strategic Plan demonstrates our commitment to supporting faculty, as it outlines goals to train faculty in adult learning principles and use of interactive instructional strategies.
To support Annual Meeting faculty in creating effective education sessions, the Office of Medical Education has created the Interactive Education Institute, a certificate program that aims to prepare Annual Meeting faculty to lead engaging educational sessions. As the 2021 Annual Meeting will take place virtually, we have adapted the program content to best meet your needs as you plan your session. Note that this program is available by invitation only for selected faculty speaking in interactive sessions via Zoom.
More on the Interactive Education Institute
The Interactive Education Institute is designed to provide training about adult learning principles and strategies that may be used to engage virtual learners. Materials will be provided to guide you through applying these principles and strategies as you plan your session. The moderator of your session will then facilitate collaboration among the faculty in the session as the group finalizes the plan for the session. Members of the OME will be available to provide support to faculty and moderators as needed.
Upon completion of the IEI, you will be deemed a Certified Interactive Educator. Obtaining this certificate demonstrates your commitment to understanding how to facilitate interactive adult education. This certificate will be recorded in your faculty profile and will be acknowledged when committees are planning AAAAI educational programs.
