Join us for the Allied Health Virtual Journal Club on Thursday, August 18 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm CST to discuss new research related to asthma. The papers we’re discussing are:

Advances in the management of asthma in adults are soaring. New global guidelines no longer recommend using short-acting beta agonist alone to treat adults and adolescents with asthma. Expansion of specific biologics now include a pediatric population.

Dr. Leonard Bacharier, MD FAAAAI, a well-published, renowned asthma expert, will serve as our summer Allied Health Journal Club discussion leader, with Dr. Karen Gregory, DNP APRN-BC RRT AE-C moderating. We will review the two articles, which were co-authored by Dr. Bacharier. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the heterogenic nature of asthma pathophysiology and the importance of personalized care and evidence-based treatment plans, including SMART (single maintenance and reliever therapy).
