Allergist/Immunologists encounter vaccine related clinical questions on a regular basis and are asked to be knowledgeable experts in vaccine function, use, and in diagnosis of adverse events. This interactive workshop will aim to increase participant knowledge of vaccines, vaccine adverse events, vaccines in immunological diagnosis, emerging disease vaccines, and the effect of an altered immune system upon vaccination efficacy and safety. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify the role of the allergist in adverse vaccine reactions
  • Discuss the utilization of vaccines in unique scenarios
  • Discuss vaccines currently in development for COVID-19
