Design:  All patients in our Allergy practice will receive a screening peak flow when first seen. Low peak flows will be followed up with formal pulmonary functions.

Main Findings:  All patients on every visit were screened with a peak flow. The patients with a low peak flow were further screened with formal pulmonary functions.  A number of new asthma and COPD patients were identified.

Impact on Practice:  Once a new asthma or COPD patient was identified they were educated on their disease and taught how to self administer bronchodilators and inhaled steroids correctly.
